BEAK (Bird Education for All Kids) is a virtual program geared for middle and high school students. Each fall and spring, we host a five month series focused on various bird-related topics.
The Fall 2024 series, Birding Basics, will introduce students to the essential knowledge and skills to become a birder and how to improve observation skills to feel confident in the field. Each month will focus on a specific topic with weekly, self-paced lessons and activities. Live group meetings via Zoom will support the learning and give students a chance to interact with their peers. Zoom meetings are held on two Thursdays of each month from 6:30-7:30 PM.
The Fall 2024 series has begun. The program cost is $25 per month basis. Participants who successfully complete the entire series will be issued a certificate of completion. The registration fee includes access to the Morgens Environmental Education Gateway (including additional free content), virtual lessons and handouts, and a one-year student membership to Birds Georgia.
If you have questions related to BEAK, please email the Education Program Manager, Melissa Paduani.
