Birds Georgia offers online courses on our digital learning platform, the Morgens Environmental Education Gateway. For more information on the Gateway and to see available courses, visit https://www.birdsgeorgia.org/learn.
Bird Education for All Kids (BEAK) is a virtual program geared for middle and high school students. Each fall and spring, we host a five month series focused on various bird-related topics.
The Fall 2024 series, Birding Basics, will introduce students to the essential knowledge and skills to become a birder and how to improve observation skills to feel confident in the field. Each month will focus on a specific topic with weekly, self-paced lessons and activities. Monthly group meetings via Zoom will support the learning and give students a chance to interact with their peers. Meetings will be held once a month on the second Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.
The Fall 2024 series will begin this August, with access to the course opening on August 4. The program cost is $25 on a pay-per-month basis or $100 if you register for the entire five month series. Participants who successfully complete the entire series will be issued a certificate of completion. The registration fee includes access to the Morgens Environmental Education Gateway (including additional free content), virtual lessons and handouts, and a one-year student membership to Birds Georgia. Participants who successfully complete the entire series will be issued a certificate of completion.
