This year, we’re excited to premiere a new addition to the Georgia Bird Fest lineup of event. On Saturday, April 20, Bird Georgia will host our inaugural Georgia Bird Fest Summit from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM at the Classic Center in Athens, GA. The Georgia Bird Fest Summit is designed to bring people from the state-wide birding community together to share knowledge and inspiration about what organizations are doing in Georgia's conservation, education, and community engagement programming.
The Summit will consist of our keynote presentation and six breakout sessions from which attendees can choose. Learn more or view the full schedule of events on the Georgia Bird Fest Summit website.
Please note that you must register for the Georgia Bird Fest Summit separately from other events. Registration for the Summit will open to Birds Georgia members at 7:00 AM on Tuesday, March 5.

2024 Georgia bird fest t-shirt
$26 plus tax and shipping
The 2024 Georgia Bird Fest T-shirt features Georgia's State Bird, the Brown Thrasher, on two Georgia native plants, the southeastern sunflower (Helianthus agrestis) and flowering dogwood (Cornus florida). The design was created by Georgia artist Alexa Class Freeman.
Alexa is a PhD biologist and artist with an addiction to nature. From a young age, Alexa was inspired by natural systems, organisms, and observing how humans relate to the nature, worldwide. Alexa has worked around the world observing and researching bird behavior, bird biodiversity, and the impacts of climate change and disease on bird species distributions, completing a PhD studying the reproductive behavior and ecology of Rufous-collared Sparrows in Ecuador. More recently, Alexa has fundraised to protect valuable ecosystems in British Columbia. Alexa enjoys creating a wide variety art about nature, the human relationship with nature, and personal experiences with nature. She is a loving mother of two and finds great joy in creating beauty in her surroundings, including gardening, cooking, music, and art, and through respectfully sharing the natural world with others. She remains committed to leaving the world a better place for future generations in her lifetime and exemplifying a deep respect and responsibility for taking care of nature, as this remains the critical through-line of her life.
